was born 1963 in Yokohama, Japan

 

From 1984 to 1988 he studied in Toho-Gakuen Conservatory in Tokyo with Professor Kato.

 

Afterwards, from 1989 to 1990, he continued his study at Mozarteum in Salzburg with Professor A. Kontarsky.  From 1990 to 1995 he studied at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, under Professors M. Deichmann, B.Bloch, and M. Roll.

 

As soloist, he was invited by many different orchestras, among others the Symphoniker Olzyn from Poland and Masan City Orchestra from South Korea.

 

1992 he founded the "Duo Morita" with his wife Mitsuru, a cellist.   Since its debut in 1992, Duo Morita has been active on stages in Japan and Europe.  Its repertoire covers a wide spectrum, from Bach to contemporary music.  In 1998, it won the second prize in "International Calro Soliva Concorso" in Italy (the first prize was not granted).

 

Since 1997 Ryuichi Morita has been working as a teaching fellow at the Robert-Schumann- Hochschule.  Additionally he also has a teaching assignment from the Düsseldorfer Heinrich-Heine Elementary School.

 

 

 

Mitsuru Morita                          (Cello, Piano, Chamber Music)

Mitsuru Morita 

 

was born 1964 in Nagoya, Japan.

 

From 1984 to 1992 she studied at the public University for Arts and Music in Tokyo with Professors Y.Horie,E.Nyffenegger, R. Flachot, and D. Schaffran.

 

From 1990 to 1995 she studied at Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf with Professor C. Reichardt, and completed her state concert examination in 1995 in Düsseldorf.

 

From 1995 to 1998 she was a member of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.

 

As a young soloist, she performed with diverse orchestras, among others the Nagoya Philharmonie Orchestra ad the Yamagata Philharmonie Orchestra.  In 1998 she won the second prize in "International Calro Soliva Concorso" in Italy (the first prize was not granted).

 

She is also a member of the Ensemble "notabu". As a teacher, Mitsuru teaches at the Heinrich-Heine-Elementary School, as well private music schools inn Niederkassel and Kaiserswerth.   She accumulated her Waldorf pedagogic philosophy through her teaching experience at the Waldorf School Haan.
